Seasoned communications expert with a specialization in Environmental, Social and Governmental (ESG) communications, Showkat leads on all sustainability-related PR at Gambit, bringing his experience to clients such as Sharjah Sustainable City, Veolia, Aramex, Deyaar, BBC Earth and more.

A former journalist who moved client side, Showkat has over 15 years’ experience in the media and communication sector. Prior to joining Gambit, he was a communications specialist at the International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), Senior Media and Communications Officer at ICRISAT, a member of the French-based CGIAR — the world’s biggest agricultural research network, and an Assistant Media Advisor at the US Department of State, at the US Consulate General in Hyderabad, India.

Holder of a master’s degree in Electronic Media from Bangalore University and a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Video Production from the University of Kashmir, Showkat also holds certificates in Leadership and Communication from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA; and Advanced Writing from the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), US State Department, USA.
